Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer
Location: Kent, Washington
As part of a small team, you will be responsible for the design and development of guidance, navigation and control systems for space launch vehicles. Applicant will be required to work on all aspects of the design cycle, from concept creation to detailed design to flight test and post flight analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Developing guidance, navigation and control algorithms and flight software.
- Developing high fidelity 6DOF vehicle simulations and subsystem models of actuators and sensors.
- Supporting vehicle configuration development and trade studies including the development of system requirements, and detailed specifications of sensing and actuation systems.
- Developing flight software including requirements definition, design implementation, and verification.
- Integration and testing of flight hardware and software, including Hardware in the Loop testing.
- Developing flight test plans and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
Required
- Demonstrated technical expertise in simulation development and control and guidance design for aerospace vehicles.
- Knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, and C/C++ programming.
- Control system design.
- MS degree or higher in Electrical or Aero/Astro engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information.
Desired
- Familiarity with boost, orbit, and entry G&C techniques commonly used on launch vehicles, missiles, or spacecraft.
- Familiarity with autocoding techniques and practices.
- Familiarity with on-orbit maneuvering including rendezvous and proximity operations.
- Familiarity with inertial navigations systems, hydraulic and electro-mechanical servos, reaction control systems, and rocket propulsion systems.
- Experience with dynamic modeling of multi-body or flexible body systems.
- Experience with real-time embedded code development.
- Experience in developing software for fully autonomous systems.
- Experience with flight test planning and execution.
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication and integration processes and quality control.
