Integration Engineer

Location: Kent, Washington

As part of a small team the Integration Engineer will be responsible manufacturing, assembling and supporting testing of hardware that meets the requirements of Blue Origin's launch vehicle programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of machined and/or carbon fiber structural components to aerospace standards
  • Fabrication of support brackets, splice plates and sheet metal parts
  • Fabrication and routing of pressurization and propellant tubing
  • Installation of wire harnesses and instrumentation
  • Designing and fabrication of assembly tooling
  • Working with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback for ease of assembly, and support development tests
  • Reviewing, editing and following work instructions for assembly tasks
  • Planning and communicating assembly steps for complex mechanical installations
  • Safely work with hazardous systems, containing chemicals and/or high pressure

Qualifications:

Required

  • Demonstrated capability to use standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment and the capability to drill and prepare close tolerance holes for fastener installation is required
  • At least 7 years experience in Aerospace or related fields
  • A&P license or equivalent experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and integration
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information

Desired

  • 10 or more years experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and vehicle integration
  • Experience with CNC machining experience, MIG/TIG welding, orbital welding, and/or composite structure fabrication
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
  • Experience with 3-D Measurement Tools, such as Faro Arms and Trackers and Verisurf software
  • Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including Hydrogen Peroxide, RP, and cryogenics
  • Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc) and pressurized system safety
  • Knowledge in the use of 3-D CAD tools (ProEngineer is preferred), and ability to read and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
