Instrumentation and Controls Engineer
Location: Kent, Washington
As part of a small team, the Instrumentation and Control Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance of Ground Systems and Test Stand electronics and software.
Responsibilities:
- Design and development of complex embedded and HMI software for safety critical data acquisition and control systems.
- Preparation of electrical drawings, specifications, and test plans
- Participation in laboratory and field testing of subsystems and vehicles
- Data analyses
- Part-sourcing and ordering of hardware
- Support of hardware-build activities
- Design, implementation and field support
- Frequent travel to test sites
Qualifications:
Required
- BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 10 years experience in the design and build of safety critical instrumentation and control systems.
- 8+ years LabVIEW experience, including RT and FPGA Modules
- 10 years C/C++ software design experience in real-time systems
- Experience with PLC system design and programming
- Experience with Servo Control systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent hands-on and troubleshooting skills
- Meticulous attention to configuration control
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information
Desired
- Working knowledge of MATLAB
- LabView certification
- Working knowledge of FlexRay, CAN and other real-time networking systems
- Experience with Agile development methods
